Thank you to the residents of Roman Way who invited me to their VE80 Day street party yesterday afternoon. It was great to be invited and to meet people although I did have to make a quick dash before I had to sing! It was great fun.

In the evening I attended the magnificent service at Hexham Abbey where lots of members of the uniformed services, veterans and cadets helped commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. Watching the beacon being lit was a fitting end to a marvellous day.
