Trees Vandalised on The Chains

Corbridge in Bloom, who do so much volunteer work to keep our village looking beautiful, planted a Memorial Garden of trees to the rear of the Parish Hall at the bottom of open space on the Chains. Sadly, some of these young trees were snapped and / or uprooted last night in a mindless act of vandalism. One tree and its stake disapeared completely. The damage is expected to be around £500.

This has been reported to Northumbria Police and I would urge anybody who saw anything to call 101 and report it or go online to https://services.northumbria.police.uk/online-services-start/report-an-incident. Alternatively contact me on 07779 983742 or nick.oliver24@outlook.com and I will pass on any information.

There is a camera on the properties on Hallgarth Close opposite so we are seeing if any recording can identify who did it but the camera is a long way away so we do need anybody who saw anything to come forward.
