I’ve had an email from Northumbrian Water asking people in Corbridge to use water wisely this summer. Soaring temperatures, reduced rainfall and more people staying in the UK this summer mean supply is less likely to meet demand.
There’s no hosepipe ban but they are asking us to take a few steps to use less water. These include:-
- Turning off the tap when brushing teeth.
- Don’t over-fill your paddling pool and cover it so you can use the water for longer.
- Have a few weeks off using the sprinkler.
- Use a bucket rather than a hose to wash the car
