Last week I presented a damning report to a specially convened council Audit Committee. This report was prepared by the council’s internal audit committee and described widespread issues of probity with the previous administration with regard to the council’s development company Arch. These widespread abuses and the culture of entitlement are now in the past and I believe it’s important that the people responsible are held to account. Northumbria Police have declined to investigate and the council’s audit committee have demanded this be referred to another force.
